FAQs

Questions?

What services do you offer?

I offer a full range of watch repair services, from full servicing through to battery replacement and everything in-between.

can i visit you in person?

As part of the conditions of having my workshop location I am unable to accept visitors at this time.

how can i get my watch to you?

I accept watches sent through insured postal services. I also offer a complimentary collection and delivery service covering the Brighton and Hove area.

Why should you service my watch rather than the manufacturer?

Broadly speaking I offer a faster turnaround, lower prices and still maintain the same exacting standards you would find if you sent your watch to the manufacturer. I adhere to manufacturers technical guidelines and I’m accredited with the British Horological Institute. You can be confident in the quality of my work.

are you qualified to repair my watch?

I have sat and passed exams with the British Horological Institute and I am an Accredited Member of the BHI. I have significant experience working on a diverse range of makes and models. I am competent and capable of repairing the vast majority of watches.

are there any watches you don’t work on?

Yes there are. It’s difficult to provide an exhaustive list as there are always exceptions. Do get in touch and I will advise accordingly. Generally speaking I do not work on: Co-axial watches, Vintage pocket watches, Low quality mechanical watches (eg. Timex).

Do you repair clocks?

No I don’t. I suggest looking on the British Horological Institute or British Watch & Clockmakers’ Guild website and using the search function to find your nearest professional clockmaker.

How much does repairing my watch cost?

The cost can vary based on many factors. If you contact me with details of your watch and the fault I can usually provide a very rough guide. Once I see the watch I will provide you with an accurate quotation before going ahead with any repair work.

is my watch guaranteed?

Yes. I guarantee full servicing and quartz movement exchanges for a period of 12 months as standard. I cannot guarantee part jobs, nor can I guarantee water resistance unless stated on the invoice (I make every effort to ensure modern water resistant models are re-sealed).
